Mango Mastani a very rich, chilled, and creamy mango dessert originated from Pune. Pune as we all know is a very famous place and known for the history of Chattrapati Shivaji Maharaj, Peshwa and the delicious cuisine. Maharashtra mangoes are very famous and summers have variety of mango desserts and shakes. So someone with the creation of own made this shake and ice-cream combination with topped nuts to serve as a Mango Mastani Dessert. This name is from the legend of the famous Peshwa ruler Bajirao and his lover Mastani. This was served first by a joint in Pune called Gujjar cold drink, and when they received lots of appreciation from people for this drink and the remark “mast” so the name came in picture “Mango Mastani”. Now this is the most popular drink all across nation and most of people serve this as a dessert in restaurants. If you want to try this at home don’t worry you don’t have to go out to taste it just make this in a simple way and serve this to your family and guest for your next occasion. Let’s jump to the recipe now. The traditional way is to serve in the Mango Shake but since I am making shots I am making it in Mango Pulp.
- 1 cup Aamras or Mango Pulp
- Vanilla ice cream
- Chopped nuts of your choice to Garnish (I have just used pistachios)
- Tutti Frutti to Garnish
- In a shot glasses filled half of it with mango pulp and refrigerate it until ready to serve.
- When ready to serve add in 2 scoops of vanilla or any other ice cream of your choice and topped with nuts and tutti frutti.
